The primary objective of this project is to delve into innovative approaches for designing an architectural structure that emulates the captivating qualities of astrophotography and satellite imagery. This ambitious goal will be accomplished by exploring the potential of lighting technologies to recreate the immersive experience of imagery within a physical space.
Central to the concept is the creation of an architectural environment that harmoniously transforms with the movement of the sun. In this vision, light transcends its conventional role of facilitating visibility and evolves into a mesmerising spectacle in its own right. The interplay of light and space will be meticulously choreographed to provide a visually enchanting experience akin to the admiration of a painting.
This project also acknowledges the rich historical context of Florence, particularly its Renaissance heritage. It draws inspiration from the profound advancements in astronomy and cartography that flourished during this era, paving the way for contemporary iterations such as astrophotography and satellite imagery.
A digital translation of the observer’s effect. The interactive particles are manipulated in realtime by a mouse or trackpad that follows the observer’s hand movement.
The final test resulted in a script which succeeds in translating any visual input into instanced geometries. The translation of colour, light and shadow into space is the materialisation of the process of perception undertaken by the script itself.
In this gallery space, light and glass work together to create a mesmerising experience. Visitors are immersed in a dynamic ambience where light becomes an artistic medium, enhancing the appreciation of the artworks on display.
