Subverting the idea of a tragic hero at the mercy of the fates, three tattoo artists operate a parlour at the mouth of the Camden Catacombs. They offer the ability to change fate, for a price.
Attracting the curious, customers flock to the parlour to begin the lengthy process of changing their fate. 'Blood Must Have Blood' invites you to a unique tattoo experience, where asking the right questions can open the right doors. But beware of the point of no return and ensure you have paid your debts because not everyone comes back out. Karama demands balance, blood must have blood, and not just anyone can cheat fate.
Blood Must Have Blood sits on an ancient entrance to the Camden Catacombs, which are now home to an expanding wealth of hidden knowledge. This archive is both the journey’s catalyst and the labyrinth from which many do not escape.
The three tattoo artists, through the lens of tarot symbology and Greek mythology, create a balance of energies that allow them to see beyond and guide those who cannot.
Looking north across the canal, exposing all that is hidden beneath the surface.
The tragic heroes are drawn in through the studios, their curiosity is their hamartia. At the fortune teller's lair they are offered a tarot reading, the Peripeteia. Finally, they reach the altar of the fates, the anagnorisis, the point of no return.
Architecture informed by my spatial sigil designs. Progression through the labyrinthine spaces and an eventual escape.
