Midjourney is a statement project; a movie and a building proposal, questioning perpetual design and the place of ego. Inspired by humanity’s rich history of change, this project is an investigation of the possibility to create adaptable, ever-changing buildings. We live in unprecedented times as we enter the fourth industrial revolution, where the only solution is to integrate technology with nature. This is both our future and our roots.
This project pushes the boundaries of hempcrete, a sustainable material with numerous advantages but limited structural strength. Innovative hemp and timber panels offer a modular approach for fast and adaptable construction. Locally sourced materials support Harlech's economy. The project embodies a rural, bio-based and futuristic concept with features like drone-builders and electrochromic windows.
The manufacturing facility produces construction panels and serves as a demonstration of the system's capabilities. It aims to challenge conventional building design and foster a circular economy that embraces both technology and nature.
The driving force behind the project is the recognition that change is constant, and we are never at the beginning or end of the story.
