The practice developed through this work aspires to facilitate the methodology of utilising architecture as a means of capturing and synthesising sounds from the natural environment. The objective of this project is to foster the creation of innovative musical typologies, not only to highlight the artistic excellence of sound engineering but also to strengthen the interdependence between people and their natural environments. The project attempts to challenge the notion of building in ecologically sensitive environments and explores how architects can mitigate sound transmission across a site.
The project is inspired by the Grime Scene that started in Jammer’s basement from ‘BoyBetterKnow’ (BBK). Sited in the Walthamstow Wetlands, the environment is used as a means of capturing sounds from nature. The ambient sounds are reprocessed by the sound engineers @140BPM.

The site after the building is decommissioned. The carbon fibre roofs are removed from the complex and the rammed earth walls begin to weather and reintegrate back into Walthamstow Wetland's ecosystem.
