This project explores the lost practice of fish leather production through a modern lens. Inspired by the techniques of other cultures, I began to learn and understand the complex and laborious art of making fish leather. My journey started with exploring ideas of giving a new purpose to surplus produce found on Chapel Market, which instinctively led to experimenting with bio-materials and, ultimately, fish skin. Over the course of my project, I gradually honed and personalised the craft of making fish leather to suit my amateur skill level. The result is a portable kit of parts that showcases my hand-made fish leather products while serving as an educational tool to share my newfound knowledge with others.

As I developed my fish crafting skills, I utilised them to create a portable toolkit made entirely out of fish parts.

After developing my fish craft skills, I wanted to share this practice with Chapel Market. I took my fish craft tools to the market and showcased them while sitting on the curb.
