Cherries hold a special place as a celebratory species, symbolising joy, abundance, and the arrival of spring. Whether it is the delightful moment of enjoying the delicious black forest gateau embedded with cherry and kirsch wine; the beautiful cherry blossom blooming in a short time once a year; or the delicate interior decorated by the luxurious cherry wood, this species embodies happiness and marks special occasions with its vibrant and delectable presence.

Sited in a cherry orchard in Baden-Baden, Germany, the project proposes a black forest gateau cafe where it provides the locals with a special place to enjoy the cake together while celebrating the cherry. By recycling the waste cherry wood and re-purposing it into the screen design, the delicacy and transparency of the cherry wood paper screen creates a special atmosphere. Along with the presence of sunlight, it creates an ambiguous and endless feel to the space, surrounded by cherry wood and blossom while celebrating the delicious cake.
