Not dead, or alive, simply gone. A memorial for missing people acknowledges those that want to remember missing loved ones in a world that only recognises life and death.
Within the limbo of missing, grievers can visit the Memorial for Missing Persons, where their emotions become art and they can memorialise their loved ones in different spaces: the Green Memorial, the Fire Memorial, the Water Memorial, and the Paper Memorial. This building gives grievers space to reflect and process their grief.
The griever’s emotion was analysed in stages: denial, anger, bargaining/guilt, depression and acceptance. In response, a guidance box is issued with comfort items, supporting their memorial journey.
Grief is analysed in more depth to acknowledge the never-ending cycle of emotion.
The feelings of the grievers brought to life in plaster, translated into art as timber wall panels.
