Amongst those who have everything, immortality is the only unattainable element of life they desire. With recent technological advancements, transferring one's consciousness into an artificial host is now possible. However, only those within the one per cent have exposure to such an operation. The proposed program allows these people to achieve everlasting life, longevity, and immortality obtained through the building’s programme.
The project is a cloning facility where affluent clients can reach immortality. This exclusive facility transfers human consciousness into an artificial host, creating a desirable immortal version of yourself. The enclosed facility offers a two-to-three-month residency for your host to fully adapt to simulated environments within the facility before being let out to the real world.
The morbid and vertebral language acts as a human archive, symbolising the end of mortality, a physical footprint of those chosen to be bionically rebirthed.
The subtle yet uncanny design compliments the atmospheric amphitheatre, whilst bespoke furniture teases out the flavours of the narrative.
Views within the industrial tower, accommodating the simulation incubators. LED screens supported by trusses simulate different microclimates to allow for clones to adjust to predictable weather conditions before being let out into the real world.
The design methodology illustrates how structure can meet function and questions how function can be communicated visually.
The building’s environment is structured around the notion of control. The overlapping of serving and served spaces echoes the programme's attempt to communicate the delineation of function.
