As a result of climate change, more infectious diseases have spread. A dying king fears the afterlife due to his crimes and the sorcery he undertook to achieve his position. He has seven years left to live, just as we have seven years left on the climate clock. His sins amass to the point of no return. Atonement is no longer an option and immortality becomes his only salvation from eternal damnation.
Seven alchemists are called upon to find the elixir of life. As the king is desperate, he takes the elixir from a cunning alchemist. He then suffers from radioactive poisoning and meets his death. In response, a home, a tomb, and spaces for concocting the elixir are created. As his body is radioactive, his tomb will be protected and a message sent to the future for it to never be disturbed.
Nestled within Regents Park, where the contours of the park’s terrain are reminiscent of alchemical symbols, the king commences searching for the elixir of life. In doing so, he falls down an even deeper immoral and corrupt rabbit hole.
Protected by dragon’s claws, the elixirs are bestowed upon the king and his alchemists as a testament to their worthy efforts.
Enveloped in a veil of utmost secrecy, the scheme encompasses a route carefully concealed for the discreet transportation of experimental subjects, essential to the meticulous crafting of the fabled elixir of life.
The alchemists are manifest in the very architecture to present the elixir to the onlooker in the main chamber. This serves to emphasise the profound significance of the elixir in alchemy.
The programme integrates bioluminescence into architecture as a methodology to warn trespassers of radiation leakages from the king’s tomb. Obscure failed alchemical material is seen oozing from the roof.
