Sited in a highly residential part of the Old Oak & Park Royal Development (OPDC), All-ground is an intergenerational community hub that brings together local preschool children and individuals over 65 to enrich the community's cohesiveness and connectivity through non-familial intergenerational interactions. The design aims to explore solutions to the isolation of individuals residing in elderly care homes or alone and the lack of children's agency, creating a safe communal/public space. The building’s multiple circulation routes enable the children’s autonomous exploration of the space and the senior users' soft surveillance of the children.
