The design concept draws inspiration from the site's history as an industrial school dedicated to empowering underprivileged children through learning woodworking skills. Transparent timber is used to enhance both functionality and aesthetics. Situated in Ash Grove, Hackney, London, the project envisions a youth centre that harmonises heritage, contemporary innovation, and environmental consciousness. This centre will cater to the evolving needs of the community by providing educational and personal development opportunities, while also preserving the architectural heritage of the location. By embracing timber's transformative power, the design concept showcases a modern approach to sustainability.
