The project is situated on Europe’s busiest street, Oxford Street. In the 1800s before it became a shopping district, the street was part of an animal battling area. This led me to research animal cruelty, particularly in regard to leather production. In proposing the Mycelium Leather Production Facility/ Visitor Centre as an extension to London College Fashion, the project provides a space where the public can embrace the production of vegan leather made from mushroom roots.
