Historically, Brick Lane and the wider area of East London were renowned for their clothing production infrastructure. Spaces across Brick Lane were organised vertically with sales on the ground floor as shown in this diagrammatic drawing.

This building provides spaces for each stage of streetwear production. The ground floor will house a showroom for the clothing designs. This provides ease of access and a view from Brick Lane, with design studios and making spaces above and below.

This project uses garment concrete in its facade design: a method for upcycling clothes for architecture. The 'stitched' facade aesthetic was explored by designing steel brackets that connect the panels.

A floor purely for production, providing tables for pattern cutting; sewing tables that receive plenty of daylight as this work requires a high degree of precision; and a screen printing area which is a staple for a streetwear brand.

A runway-inspired entrance into the building at the back of the site: a spatialise interpretation of the ‘if you know, you know brand’ phrase.
