The Sweet Moments project aims to improve the low satisfaction and seasonal economic fluctuations in Great Yarmouth by exploring its unique tourism culture. The site includes the historic gasholder, which is over 130 years old, and integrates wind power and vertical farming to bridge the gap between tradition and innovation, taking advantage of the town's windy climate.
The project combines the under-appreciated culture of smoked fish products in Great Yarmouth with modern vertical farming and aquaculture technologies. It creates a complete system that encompasses planting, breeding, harvesting, smoking and enjoying these products, offering a fun and interactive space for exploration and interaction. Both locals and visitors can work together, learn and engage in creating sweet moments. The design element of voronoi cell, inspired by the crystallisation of condiments used in smoked product production, such as sugar and salt, is incorporated into the project to capture the beauty and joy of pattern generation.
