Climate scientists have predicted that parts of London could be submerged underwater by 2050. As floods begin to engulf the city, entertainment spaces can empower and unite the divided communities in a near-apocalyptic future. The habitable bridge serves as a nexus between the north and south banks of the River Thames, featuring small-scale ticketed performance cocoons that are open throughout the day and night, showcasing the diversity of London's entertainment scene with shows, gigs, and events. Designed to be carbon-zero, the project utilises the waves generated by river traffic and their distinct wake patterns to power the bridge. The timber structure draws inspiration from existing habitable bridges and is designed to be open, allowing natural winds to pass beneath it. Amidst the flooded landscape, Super Aquam aims to introduce a new entertainment hub in the heart of London, bridging communities on both sides of the Thames.
